Pride Flag Raisings Across Niagara County

Come along with us around Niagara County as we raise the Pride flag at various Municipal Buildings, Parks, and Places of note to help bring in the beginning of the 2024 Pride Season!

  • Friday, May 31, 2024

    • 9:00am – ArtPark in Lewiston, NY 

    • 10:00am – Niagara Falls State Park – at Terrapin Point 

    • 11:30am – Niagara Falls City Hall

Newfane Pride

Join Niagara Pride for this annual tradition as we celebrate Pride in Newfane, NY.  Multiple vendors will be present ranging from various local agencies to artists and crafters. Outdoor games! Music! This is a family friendly event.

Newfane Pride is free to attend.

Lockport Pride

Be a part of history with Niagara Pride and the Kenan Center as we host the first ever LOCKPORT PRIDE! This free, family-friendly, annual event will feature over 40 vendors, food trucks, drag performances, music,

and a kids zone.

Pride Festival - held near the Kenan Center Arena will run from 1pm to 5pm. Free admission.

Rainbow City Pride 
The Official Pride of Niagara Falls, NY

Celebrate with Niagara Pride and Old Falls Street as we celebrate pride in the heart of Niagara Falls, NY.  This is a free, family-friendly, annual street festival event will feature:

  • Various LGBTQ+ artist/craft vendors

  • Food trucks

  • Drag performances music by DivasWho!

  • Free unicorn drawn carriage rides

  • Superheroes from The Justice League of WNY

  • and much more!

After the street festival, join us at one or all of the Rainbow City After Parties being held at:

Daredevil Records, The Archives Pub, and Gold Bar

Finally, wind down the evening inside Niagara Falls State Park, where the Falls will be lit up in the Pride colors and a fireworks show will cap off the night!

Lock, Stock, and Drag Extravaganza

Join Niagara Pride for its 1st Annual Drag extravaganza featuring performers Jamye Coxx, Freddie Hercury, Pamela Carnes, Logan Berry, Vageena George, Sheena Spice, and Bleu Darlin.

 

Show is from 6-7pm on June 22, 2024 at the Kenan Center Theater.

Cataract Commons Area

  • 11am – 12pm:  Pride Interfaith Service – join clergy from various denominations and beliefs as they create hold an LGBTQ+ safe and affirming worship service

  • 12:15pm -12:45pm:  Niagara Arts & Cultural Center LGBTQ+ Art Demonstration - Join Alternating Currents II exhibiting artist, Kevin Carr, as he leads a public demonstration on quilting and building quilting squares.  Materials will be on hand for participants of all ages to make quilt squares envisioning what “Pride” means to them. These pieces will be joined into a single quilt for display at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center through the artist’s workshop on July 13.

  • 1:15pm – 1:45pm:  Niagara Falls Aquarium’s Ambassador Animals – meet some of the amazing animals and creatures that live at the Niagara Falls Aquarium.

  • 2pm – 2:30pm:  Pride Vision Board Making – join local Niagara Falls artist, Laura Chenault, as she demonstrates how to make a Pride inspired vision board.  Attendees will be given materials to make their own Pride Vision Board that they can take home with them.  Limited to 20 people.  Please get your admission pass for this demonstration at the Niagara Pride tent.  Passes are free of charge and will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.

  • 3pm – 3:30pm:  Zumba – get ready to get your body moving and learn about Zumba during this demonstration.

  • 3:45pm – 4:15pm:  Niagara Arts & Cultural Center LGBTQ+ Art Demonstration -  Join Alternating Currents II exhibiting artist, Kevin Carr, as he leads a public demonstration on quilting and building quilting squares.  Materials will be on hand for participants of all ages to make quilt squares envisioning what “Pride” means to them. These pieces will be joined into a single quilt for display at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center through the artist’s workshop on July 13.

  • 4:30pm – 5:30pm:  Photo Op Power Hour – this is your chance to meet with the superheroes, Gem the Unicorn, and drag performers who will be in attendance and get your photo taken with them.  Photo ops are free.

 

Rainbow City Highlights - from 1pm to 6pm, attendees will have the opportunity to experience…

  • Chair Massages by Twin City Massage - Stop by their tent to purchase a chair massage session and let go of all your stress so that you can relax the rest of the time at Rainbow City Pride.

  • Meet the Author - Local WNY LGBTQ+ Author Charles P. Palmatier-Maynard, will be on hand for your opportunity to talk to him about his novels, Love Bites…Sometimes and Searching for Isabella, as well as purchase copies and have your books signed.

  • Interact with your favorite superheroes from The Justice League of WNY

Alternating Currents II

ACII considers the craft-based artwork of LGBTQ+ artists from across Western New York. By bringing these artists together and emphasizing the role of craft within contemporary art, this exhibition centers a cohort of artists within Western New York whose art shapes our cultural conversation.

 

On Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 2-4pm you can join curator and NACC Gallery Co-Director, Dana Murray Tyrrell, plus exhibiting select artists for an exhibit walkthrough in the NACC’s Townsend Gallery. Public tours are free, and allow guests to learn more about the artwork, artists, and our building.

 

Galleries at the NACC are free and open to the public Tuesday - Sunday from 10:00am - 5:00pm.

 

Guided Tours are available by calling 716-282-7530. Bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance.
